A free medical check up and treatment for Sukau villagers was held from the 21st to 23rd September 2003 at Sukau Village Multi-purpose Hall in Sukau. The medical treatments ranged from general consultation, surgery, orthodonthias, acupuncture to dental treatment. This project was carried out in collaboration with a Korean Medical Team, Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu South, Sukau Village Security and Development Committee and Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Various type of medicines costing approximately RM10,000.00 was prepared by the Korean team for this special event.About 907 people benefited from this three (3) day project. The Korean Medical Team donated 250 pairs of shoes to the students of the primary school in Sukau and T-shirts were also given out to teachers and staffs. In the future, Borneo Eco Tours Sdn Bhd and Sukau Rainforest Lodge plans to organize similar events with the cooperation of other organizations.SERDC spent a total of RM10,780.00 on the project providing free meals, transportation, accommodation and airfares.
