Medical aid to a cleft lip boy

In April-July SERDC sponsored a four year boy, Azizi Suhaimin B.Bahrani in the first of two operations on his cleft lip at Duchess of Kent Hospital and food and lodging for his parents in Sandakan. The staff of Sukau also assisted in providing logistics and accommodation in Sandakan. The second operation is due in February 2002.

With effect from 1st September 2001 SERDC will be providing RM100.00 per month allowance for a period of one year for his three year old brother Mohd.Suhaizan who is suffering from thelasemia and require monthly visit and blood transfusion in Sandakan. In September, three staff of Sukau Rainforest Lodge and Borneo Eco Tours also donated three pints of blood to the boy.
