Sharing Privilege – Borneo Ecotourism Solutions and Technologies (BEST) Society received Sustainable Development Grants Award 2015 from SHELL Malaysia

Thursday 7th May, 2015 – Another on the go for BEST Society after receiving Grants from Shell on the last 7th May 2015 under the category of Sustainable Livelihood. Organic Farming phase 2 is a continuous project supported by Shell with community involvement in Kg. Rampai Besar, Kudat, Sabah, Malaysia.

Shell has given BEST Society the privilege to share the goodness to the local community in Kg. Rampai Besar, Kudat for the second time. The total amount of RM 40,000.00, represented by Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, will be used for Organic Farming Project (Phase 2).

Another eight (8) Non Government Organizations (NGOs) received Sustainable Grant on that day with multi projects but with the same objective in which to improve human and knowledge capitals through capacity building, skills training, and technical assistance and leadership development programs of the local leaders.

The Organic Farming has started early May 2015 with the first activity by which, the land owner cum project liaison officer in Kg. Rampai Besar, Kudat, Mr. Jerri and other participants started to level the site and coordinating the irrigation system to ensure the plant will get sufficient water supply for growing process. There are ten (10) participants stepped forward by accepting the challenge to start their own organic farm.
